Sometimes I get asked why I don't eat beef. The essential plant-based diets are vegetarianism or veganism. Neither vegetarians nor vegans eat beef - no red beef, no chicken, no fish. In addition they don't eat most foods made using the flesh of the animal, like meat or rooster broth. Vegans take it a step further and avoid all products from pets or animals. This includes milk, eggs, gelatin or even honey. They also often abstain from using creature products like leather and wool.
